Vira
Posted by: catgoddessbastet - on Tuesday, November 24, 2009 - 11:53 PM
So my neighbor Vira died pretty recently. This is a poem about some of my feelings.
~~~~~~~~~~
I knew you for ten whole years
And yet, I knew you not
I mourn your death with flowing tears
Thinking of all the pain you fought
You suffered a long time through cancer
Saying nothing of that war
I never learned the answer
To questions I don't remember anymore
It was a shock to hear that you passed
I miss you with all of my heart
The place I call home seems so vast
Even though we'll never be apart
And I do see your face
Every time I look at the moon
But I still miss your embrace
You died all too soon
I want to hear your stories of Russian lore
So many things I didn't know
I had wished you would stay some more
But it was time for you to go
I hope we will meet again
I hope your spirit flies free
But I know that until then
You'll be watching down on me
~~~~~~~~~~
Vira was a very special person to me. I loved her a lot and I hope she's in a place of peace now, free from her pain.
